Using the SunChef® solar cooker
Principle
The SunChef Barbecue/Solar Oven uses air-tube technology (double-walled glass tubes between which a layer of air is trapped for high heat insulation). Its two parabolic wings concentrate the sun’s energy inside the tube and heat the preparation. No flames, no smoke, no gas, no electricity – just solar energy, free, ecological and sustainable.
What’s the weather like?
The vacuum tube retains cooking heat even in cloudy weather. The SunChef solar cooker works in both winter and summer, whatever the outside temperature. Because SunChef captures light efficiently, it does not require frequent readjustment during cooking.
Which recipes?
With its large 5-liter capacity, the SunChef solar cooker steams meat, fish, vegetables, bread, cakes and more. With rapid heat-up (10 minutes) and high-performance cooking up to 250°C, it delivers cooking results equivalent to those of a conventional oven.
Where to use it
Ready to use, the SunChef solar cooker stands on its tripod, opening and closing easily. Its carrying handles make it easy to move around. Perfect for motorhomes, boats, campsites, terraces and gardens, for family or group use (events, festivals, restaurants).
In Practice!
1°/ Stabilize the tripod on the ground and slide the camera into the tripod slide.
2° / Open the housing as far as possible to deploy the parabolic mirrors. Screwing to stabilize the wings
3°/ Place your food evenly inside the tray and close.
4°/ Position the SunChef solar cooker so that it faces the sun. Readjust the cooker every 30 minutes as the sun moves.
7°/ Stir your preparation in the middle of cooking. Taste at the end of cooking
