Solar recipe: mushroom pizza
Here is a very simple recipe for mushroom pizza, made by our Solar Sister Francine with the SunGlobe parabolic solar oven. Francine shares her passion, tips and advice for successful solar cooking.

Ingredients for 2-4 people:
- 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tin sliced mushrooms
- 1 brick tomato pizza sauce
- 1 puff pastry round pastry
- 80g grated Gruyère cheese
- chopped basil and lemon thyme
- salt, pepper.
Preparing the mushroom pizza
It’s essential to use a second pie tin of the same size to cover the pizza during baking.
- Place the pastry in the tin.
Spread with tomato sauce. - Add the mushrooms, onions, herbs and Gruyère cheese, and season with salt and pepper.
- Bake for 1 hour, then turn the tin 180° to distribute the heat evenly, and cook for a further hour.
It goes without saying that you can vary the ingredients: ham, chorizo etc… Enjoy your meal!
